New Year's & Turning 17!

...Catch up post continued....

2011 is here (and has been for almost a month now! Ha!) I hope yours has started out just as great as ours has. On New Year's day, we ate the traditional food with my grandparents. Very yummy! Next New Year's will be very exciting because it will be...THE YEAR I GRADUATE !

January 5 was my 17th birthday. I have never (repeat NEVER!) gone to school on my birthday. We are always still out for Christmas break...until this year. We went back on my birthday! But, I have to say, I loved it! Seeing all my friends on my actual b'day and getting all the birthday wishes at school was just fun. I actually enjoyed it, and I think this birthday was the best one yet!

Now, last year was a big birthday...16. Let me just say, the cake was AMAZING.. I don't think there could be another cake as great as this one was...It was my favorite!

BUT...these little cupcakes for this year were just as cute...they were bright and colorful! And perfect for turning 17.

The Sunday after my birthday, my wonderful Sunday School class brought lots of cupcakes to celebrate. We even had some that had bright yellow icing...my favorite color!
Here are some of my birthday presents.
I also got the cutest zebra print watch, money, and another iTunes card.

I absolutely LOVE this necklace one of my friends gave me. Very cute. It says "True Friends, True Hearts."

Also, I got some black crates for my birthday. I had some orange ones in my room right here, but I have retired any thing unless it is black, pink, or zebra print. So these crates look great!

Okay...on to the next post - which will be about the biggest snow I've ever experienced in my entire life.

Christmas Eve/Day

Wow, it's been a while. The next few posts will be catching up...
Over the past several weeks, we've enjoyed a wonderful Christmas, a lovely New Year's, I turned 17, and we have just recently been out of school for a whole week for about 8 inches of snow. Snow is a huge deal in Alabama. We NEVER get it...but for some reason, we are this year! (I think more than we can deal with! Haha!)

So - on to the Christmas post!

Christmas Eve morning, we (Mom, Dad, Erin, and myself) exchanged presents with each other. Christmas Eve around lunch time, Erin's boyfriend came over, and we had our present exchange with him. Christmas Eve night, we went to Popa and Granny's for Christmas with Dad's side of the family. We had a great time. We had lots of good food, and we also got our usual Coffee Punch that my aunt fixes us every year at Christmas...yum! Christmas with them is quite entertaining with the little kids. We had our present exchange and played...then, it was time to go back home to get ready for Santa!

Christmas morning, we woke up to SNOW. A white Christmas...everyone's dream! It was nice. We got up and opened Santa presents and then ran outside to play just a bit before we headed to my other grandparents house. Thankfully it wasn't too much where we couldn't go anywhere, but we just had to be extra careful on our way to Christmas with Mom's side of the family.

Here's just a few pics from Christmas Eve & Christmas Day...

Christmas Time!

Wow! I can't believe Christmas is here already!!
Here's some pics from our December days!

Here is my Christmas Tree! (I actually put it up a little before Thanksgiving...so I've been enjoying it for a while!)

Erin and I at the Christmas tree farm
(We always cut a tree every year!)

And here it is all decorated.

This is my Hallmark Barbie ornament...I collect these!

Of course Ollie has been a good addition this Christmas. :)

We have made more Tea Cake cookies this year than ever I think! They are so good and cute...
but I think we are about tired of seeing them for now! :)

Lots of posing in front of the Christmas tree has gone on of course!

Erin & Me...ready for a Christmas party

This cute little tin I got was FULL of candy to the top!

And lastly, this would be me in my $88 houndstooth coat that I got for under $30!
It is very warm...perfect for these cold days we've had!

hAPPY tHANKSGiViNG!

First off....
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever." Psalm 107:1

Hope you've enjoyed this Thanksgiving day!
We had a nice lunch with my family, and now we are just hanging out.

Now...I guess the Christmas fun will begin!!
I've actually been enjoying my Christmas tree since last Friday...I just couldn't wait!

Last year, I had a star on my tree...but I found this really cute bow on sale at Hobby Lobby, and I thought it looked perfect! This is just the second year for me to have my white tree, so I'm still loving it!

So, in the past I've loved summer clothes waaay more than winter clothes until this year. I keep finding all these winter clothes I just love!!

My top favorite winter things: sweater dresses, boots, moccasins, and jackets. I've just recently discovered how much I love skinny jeans, too!

I am in love with these shoes!! They look cute with a lot of my casual clothes. I got them from American Eagle...for half price!

I found a really cute pair of black suede slouch boots that were on sale. They even have zebra print lining! :) Here is what they look like...except I bought black, not gray.

Today, I ordered a nice houndstooth coat...$88 on sale for $30! I'm loving these sales!

AND...I am also in love with these watches!!! They are so cute...and sooo cheap! $15! So far I only have a black and white one, but I'm hoping that will change after Christmas. ;)

Tomorrow = IRON BOWL!!

It should be a great game!!

ROLL TIDE!!
and Happy Black Friday to all you shoppers! :)

:)

NO SCHOOL TODAY!! It's parenting day! :)
We get out of school a lot this month. Along with today, we get out next Thursday, and then at the end of the month for Thanksgiving break...and we even got out early last Tuesday for bad weather.

Last Sunday afternoon (10-24) was the tailgate party at church...the one I made the cookies for. :)

Our pre-tailgate outfits. Haha! Meredith and I totally didn't plan this, but we did have on our Bama outfits that Sunday morning. :)

(I feel so short when I stand by Meredith...and I'm really not all that short - 5'5.....and a half! Meredith is just tall. Haha!)

Erin and Me. (Sisters divided...ROLL TIDE!)

On another note, check out these pretty mums Casey got Erin!

Hope your week has started off great!
